The sale process of the compressor manufacturer GEA Bock GmbH to the international financial investor NORD Holding has been concluded: now, following the spin-off from GEA Group, the compressor manufacturer will be operating on the market as an independent company under the new name Bock GmbH.

The focus of the company is today on environmentally friendly and economical compressor technologies for the use of natural refrigerants such as CO2, hydrocarbons and other low-GWP refrigerants.

Compressor supplier Bock sold to NORD Holding

The sale process of Bock was initiated in September 2020, and the company announces it has now received the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities and was finally completed on February 26, 2021. In addition to the headquarters in Frickenhausen/Germany, the transaction also included the subsidiaries in China, India and the Czech Republic.

Bock «sees the new independence as a basis for being able to react even more flexibly and quickly to the different requirements of customers and markets and to provide the necessary solutions and services – the company outlines in a press release -. And this with added value for planners, investors and operators, in which functionality, cost-effectiveness and climate protection go hand in hand».

Environmentally friendly technology in Bock’s spotlight

“We see the new constellation with NORD Holding, a partner with experience in medium-sized companies and a long-term orientation, as offering the best opportunities to expand our business sustainably and profitably,” says Axel Scherrieble, Managing Director of Bock GmbH. “For our customers and partners, nothing will change after February 26 except for a new e-mail ID. Existing business relationships will continue as before – including the responsible contact persons in our company. Our complete product portfolio and our comprehensive service and support services will also be available without restriction.”

He adds: “In close cooperation with our customers, we will consistently develop the traditional Bock brand with a view to technology, quality and innovation leadership and take it to the next level of success. Our focus is primarily on environmentally friendly and economical compressor technologies for the use of natural refrigerants such as CO2 (R744), hydrocarbons and other low-GWP refrigerants. This is a future market that offers attractive growth potential for us and our customers – and for which we already provide one of the world’s largest portfolios of stationary and mobile compressors.”
