Its name is ZX5 and it can boast 738 kilowatt-hours of energy. Proterra announced that it is increasing the amount of energy on board the electric bus, providing more battery storage to help transportation agencies engaged in emission vehicle fleets goal.

Beginning in 2023, the Proterra ZX5 Max 40-foot electric bus will be able to be equipped with up to 738 kWh of on-board energy. With this enhancement, Proterra buses will have the most energy storage of any 40-foot electric bus available in the North American market. With 738 kWh of battery energy storage, the ZX5 Max will be able to provide more than 300 miles of driving range on a single charge, depending on route conditions, configuration and operation.

In addition, the 35-foot and 40-foot ZX5 electric bus models will be able to be equipped with up to 492 kWh of on-board energy for routes with less demanding range requirements.
