Alexander Dennis Limited (NFI Group) announced that it will build an initial run of 10 electric double-decker buses for Hong Kong operator The Kowloon Motor Bus Company (KMB).
The zero-emission Enviro500EVs will be ADL‘s first double-decker electric buses in the Asia-Pacific region and will continue a long tradition of innovation for the Hong Kong bus market.

The ten three-axle, fully air-conditioned Enviro500EVs will be delivered to KMB in 2023 and will be equipped with new and innovative features that will continue to raise the bar for efficiency, safety and comfort. They will be fully integrated in-house by ADL’s engineering team each of the Enviro500EVs will be capable of carrying up to 130 passengers, ensuring the ability to maintain Hong Kong’s busy bus services.

ADL’s committment for Hong King

ADL has been at the forefront of bus development in Hong Kong for more than half a century, introducing vehicle air conditioning and low-floor access for three- and two-axle double-deckers to the market, before pioneering hybrid and now electric drivetrains. In all of these developments, ADL has partnered with KMB, Hong Kong’s largest franchised bus operator. KMB operates more than 400 routes with a fleet of about 4,000 buses, most of them double-deckers, including more than 2,500 diesel-powered Enviro500 buses purchased by ADL.
