Fiat Ducato electric, 2020 will be the year of its debut on the market. The electric version of the best seller vehicle, also in configuration for passenger transport (able to accommodate 16 people in addition to the driver) will be available on order from December 2019. This will be the first electric model from Fiat Professional. It will join the Ducato Natural Power in the ‘family’ of alternative drives offered by the FCA group.

The novelty is linked to the launch of the new Ducato MY2020, the evolution of the best seller of Fiat Professional with 38 years of history behind it. Fiat Ducato in 2018 has been appointed as market leader in Europe in its segment for the fifth consecutive year. It scored first in terms of sales in 12 countries.

The Fiat Ducato Electric will be available in all bodywork variants with the same loading volume as the conventional Ducato, from 10 m3 to 17 m3, and the best capacity on the market, up to 1,950 kg, Fiat Professional underlines. It will include different battery options, in order to guarantee an amount of range tailored to the customer’s needs. The manufacturer states that the range can vary from 220 to 360 kilometers measured in NEDC cycle. The maximum power available will be 90 kW, for a peak torque of 280 Nm.

The Fiat Ducato electric, Fiat Professional explains, is the outcome of a careful analysis passed through an entire year of data acquisition. A survey that has shown, continues the company, that more than 25 percent of the market already has a complete ‘Battery electric vehicle attitude’, which means that it is ready to adopt battery models. The Ducato electric has been developed, through an innovative pilot project, together with large selected customers.
