The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has launched 35 luxury electric buses by JBM on the Karimnagar-Hyderabad (Jubilee Bus Station) route, around 160km long.

TGSRTC states it has plans to roll out an additional 500 electric buses across the state.

JBM introduced two vehicles on the European market at Busworld 2023: the all-electric city bus Ecolife and the luxury coach (also battery-powered) Galaxy. The group just announced a new e-bus for Europe coming in March, plus updated e-coach expected at Busworld 2025.

To facilitate efficient operations, an 11KV sub-station has been established at the Karimnagar bus depot-2, featuring 14 charging points and three electric transformers, the operator states. This infrastructure will enable the electric buses to recharge effectively, allowing for non-stop operations between Karimnagar and key destinations such as Manthani, Jagtial, Godavarikhani, Sircilla, and Kamareddy.

The buses are powered by advanced lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries that support fast plug-in charging via the CCS-2 system.

The 12M Intercity e-Verse non-AC electric buses provide various seating configurations, including 41 full reclining seats (2×2) plus a seat for the driver. For passenger convenience, these buses are equipped with integrated overhead luggage racks and sliding windows. The vehicles feature high-back reclining seats with adjustable armrests, footrests, USB charging ports, water bottle holders, and other amenities designed to enhance comfort during long journeys.
