The Balkan state North Macedonia has the target of having 100 – 120 e-buses operating within one year, according to statements by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski covered on local media. Majority of the vehicles will be deployed in Skopje (where Chariot Motors has been running a pilot in the past – see picture).

Balkan Green Energy News writes that “In order not to burden the republic’s budget, the payment, in his words, should include a deferment period and half-yearly installments. Local authorities that have urban public transport systems will receive electric buses and infrastructure for their operation, such as charging stations. Around 50 e-chargers should be needed, according to the government”.

Trade agency electrive notes that “North Macedonia is home to a BMZ battery plant, which supplies electric buses” (the battery manufacturer is going to supply NMC4 generation to Daimler Buses for use on the electric city bus range eCitaro).
