After the first edition in 2019, the second in 2022, everything is set for the third round of Busworld Southeast Asia, to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in the International Expo halls, May 15-17, 2024.

Indonesia’s bus&coach market is growing rapidly, driven by urbanization, infrastructure improvements, environmental energy transition, and tourism. Government initiatives have significantly influenced the shift to more sustainable and clean public transport solutions, on all electric buses.

Lots of vehicles to discover at Busworld Southeast ASia

Indonesia’s leading bus&coach manufacturers, Laksana, New Armada, Adi Putro and Tentrem, which together account for about 80 percent of the market share, are all set to showcase their latest innovations at the event.

In particular, New Armada will celebrate its 50th anniversary by unveiling a new vehicle among other exhibits, which include a sleeping car, a 6-meter minibus, an 8-meter bus, several 12-meter buses, and more.

Laksana is making strides toward the electrification of transportation by introducing a 12-meter full electric low entry bus. Pioneering the sleeper bus concept in Indonesia, Laksana continues to innovate with its Suites Class that offers diverse travel experiences.

Adi Putro, on the other hand, is at the forefront of frame design with its air suspension frame, reflecting its commitment to quality and innovation through ongoing research and international collaboration.

Tentrem, known for its high-quality production of medium and large buses, remains focused on excellence.

Golden Dragon also returned to the show fully dedicated to electric buses, presenting the 6-meter Astar, the 7.3-meter Intour, and the 12-meter E12 LD.

The world of components at Busworld Southeast Asia

The show will also feature a wide range of components, accessories and services from suppliers from Indonesia, China, Taiwan, India, Turkey and the United Kingdom. One of the highlights of this year’s program is the Company Pitch Program, scheduled for May 16, designed to facilitate an efficient exchange of information and deepen industry knowledge among engineering teams and other attendees.

Matchmaking goal

In an effort to foster connections within the industry, Busworld is introducing a matchmaking program aimed at bridging the gap between bus body manufacturers (buyers) and suppliers of components, accessories and services. This initiative is designed to streamline the collaboration process, ensuring that participants find the right partners for their business needs.

The electric bus conference

A key element of Busworld Southeast Asia 2024 will be a comprehensive conference on the electrification of bus fleets, to be held on May 16 and 17. Notable speakers include Tom Cunnington of Transport for London and Alok Jain of The Kowloon Motor Bus Company, who will share their expertise on a range of topics from insurance and safety to route planning and user communication strategies.
