Otokar has exported for the first time its telematics solution Bus Monitor (in Portugal)

Otokar announces it has exported for the first time its self-developed telematics solution, Bus Monitor, to Portugal. The Turkish group is therefore expanding its export portfolio of vehicles to include technological solutions.

Designed to optimize public transport operations, Bus Monitor helps operators and municipalities reduce costs, enhance efficiency and plan maintenance to ensure uninterrupted service.

Bus Monitor “provides an innovative and efficient solution for the management and optimization of bus fleets. The software, developed in-house by Otokar, continuously collects data through a telematics device integrated with the vehicle’s Fleet Management System (FMS). This data is instantly processed and displayed on the user interface. Bus Monitor, capable of sending real-time alerts to mobile devices as SMS, monitors critical technical data such as door position, air conditioning, interior temperature, battery level, current speed, engine oil level, pressure and temperature, gas and brake pedal position and more”, Otokar explains.

Bus Monitor can be seamlessly integrated with company ERP systems and tailored to meet specific customer requirements. The solution provides real-time monitoring of various data, including mechanical failures and engine oil temperature. By generating alerts based on system data, Bus Monitor detects potential issues proactively, preventing costly breakdowns through predictive maintenance.

Recently, we delivered 10 e-KENT public transportation buses to the Portuguese Carbus for use in the city of Coimbra.
