ROCSYS has raised 6.3 million dollars (5.25 million Euros) in a round led by Forward.One: the money will be used to scale up activities throughout Europe and launch a North-American business unit. Field: robotic EV charging technologies.

The company, based in the Netherlands, has recently opened a cooperation with Grivix and VDL ETS addressed at the development of robotic fast charging for Heavy Duty Vehicles, being them e-buses or e-trucks.

In late 2020 the company entered in a partnership with Ebusco to develop a robot which would ensure that the CCS plug of the depot charger is plugged into the bus automatically and 100% correctly.

ROCSYS raises over 5 million euros for robotic EV charging

The entire investment is done by ROCSYS’ exisiting investors: Forward.One and Superangel. To date, ROCSYS says it has raised a total of $9 million (€7.5 million) since its founding in 2019, which includes additional funding by UNIIQ and grants.

ROCSYS mission is to support large vehicle OEMs in their electrification efforts. As the automotive world steadily moves towards self-parking and self-driving, automation of charging becomes inevitable for the globally installed base of EV chargers.

ROCSYS’ system leverages on patented soft-robotics technology and AI-based computer vision. Robotic EV charging from development to serial adoption
