Towards Busworld Europe 2025
With six months to go before Busworld Europe 2025 opens in Brussels, the first rumors, or rather confirmations, are coming in about what will be on display at the show, according to latest press release by Busworld
Bus&coach manufacturers and component suppliers have on the launch pad are preparing to raise the curtain on their latest innovations, ranging from electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles to next-generation transmissions, across the entire galaxy of hardware components and software telematics.
What’s new from the OEMs at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels
As for the launch of new vehicles, electric, hydrogen and long-haul, here are a few highlights:
MAN
MAN Truck & Bus strengthens its electric mobility offering with a major premiere: the MAN eCoach will be the company’s first all-electric touring bus, designed as a zero-emission alternative to the Lion’s Coach. Series production is scheduled to begin in 2026 at the MAN plant in Ankara, Turkey. The NMC battery packs have been produced, since April, at the MAN plant in Nuremberg.
In addition, news is also planned for the MAN Lion’s City E as model year 2025, scheduled for series production in the fourth quarter of the year. News that should already be seen in Hamburg at the UITP Summit: new in-house batteries, extended charging options, and to the optimization of the electric drivetrain.
Solaris

Solaris Bus & Coach will present the Urbino 10.5 Electric at Busworld Europe 2025. The model was announced during the company’s annual results presentation on March 12, 2025. Designed for compact urban operations, the 10.5-meter e-bus features modular drive technology, although detailed technical specifications have not yet been released.
Daimler Buses

Mercedes eIntouro will be available for orders in first quarter of 2025, but public launch will happen at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels. The near-production prototype of the BEV version of Daimler Buses’ intercity bus has been presented in November 2024 at eMobility Days in Berlin. This launch marks the debut of Daimler Buses in the nascent intercity electric bus market.
Interestingly enough, it’s equipped with a different set of battery and driveline than the eCitaro range, made of LFP batteries by CATL and central motor by ZF. Two lengths are available: the 12.18-metre eIntouro and the 13.09-metre eIntouro M. Seating variants from 50 to a maximum of 63 seats are covered.
The near-production prototype of the all-electric Mercedes eIntouro interurban bus is based on the diesel-powered Intouro, but is equipped with a battery-electric drive with LFP batteries and a central motor instead. As a result, Daimler Buses is able to switch to electric mobility for the first time for interurban routes, school buses, shuttle buses and excursion routes, as well as for short trips.
VDL

VDL Bus & Coach is expected to launch a new generation of its Citea electric platform: increased battery efficiency, reduced vehicle weight, and fully modular architecture for urban and suburban use

VinFast will present a 12-meter electric city bus, already in service in Vietnam, with a range of 300-350 km, developed in collaboration with Pininfarina and powered by Siemens technology. The brand emphasizes full vertical integration, from battery production to final assembly, and aims to enter five EU markets by 2026.
