Bus Display at InnoTrans 2024 will feature for the first time vehicles from BYD and Ikarus, that will be among the highlights of the trade show when it comes to bus sector professionals. In the meanwhile, dedicated bus area at IAA Transportation has been cancelled.

InnoTrans states that BYD will be exhibiting three buses in Berlin. Ikarus is bringing two buses: the latest V4 version of its 12 m city bus, the Ikarus 120e, and the Ikarus midi bus, an 8 m electric bus. Ikarus is a partner of Siemens, and is displaying that company’s latest innovative e-Line current collectors on its stand.

InnoTrans 2024, the first time for BYD and Ikarus

InnoTrans, the world’s leading trade show for transport technology, will be held in Berlin from 24 to 27 September.

The Bus Display is a special exhibition area where demonstrations will take place, test drives can be taken and where vehicle manufacturers can meet suppliers and bus companies. InnoTrans 2024 is displaying a wide range of innovations, from new drive systems and engines, interiors, air-conditioning and cleaning to timetable management for bus fleets.

As well as BYD and Ikarus, other leading manufacturers are also taking part. Arthur Bus, Ebusco, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Neso Bus and K-Bus are among the companies presenting their latest public transport vehicles.

On the Bus Display, Ventura Systems is exhibiting ultra-modern entry systems for public transport.

Bus presentations will take place on the exhibition grounds’ 500 m long Demonstration Course, with trade visitors able to take test drives. The outdoor exhibition augments the hall displays, which is where Daimler Buses is among those represented in Hall 4.2. The ShowBus of DB Regio AG is also on the grounds. The 12 m electric bus features a lounge area, workspaces, a high level of comfort, and emphasises barrier-free access. Innovative charging technology and vehicle interiors The focus is on electric and hydrogen power, as they are currently the manufacturers’ zero-emissions drive systems of choice and in customer demand.

Accordingly, companies including Mont-Ele and SBRS are displaying charging solutions for public transport on the grounds to ensure more efficient and sustainable energy for electric buses. In addition to China Railway, Etihad Rail, Infrabel, Korail, ÖBB, PKP, Deutsche Bahn, RTA Dubai and Saudi Railway, ten other regional, national and international transport companies and operators are represented on their own stand, InnoTrans points out.
