Karsan is attending IAA Transportation Expo to be held in Hannover, Germany. The brand, which is preparing to showcase its electric and autonomous product family, “will also make its mark on the fair with the surprise of a new model that will take electric mobility to another dimension“, Turkish manufacturer says.

The only specification added, by Karsan CEO Okan Baş, is that they are talking of “an electric vehicle”. It should be mentioned that, while at the moment the battery-electric bus range is complete from 6 to 18-meter, a fuel cell bus model hasn’t been launched so far.

Okan Baş added: “Germany is our one of the most important target markets. And here, we have set ambitious targets for ourselves and we are taking firm steps towards these targets as Karsan. In this context, we first reviewed our structuring in Germany, and took our first steps towards restructuring directly as Karsan (editor’s note: the brand was previously distributed by Quantron, but the cooperation has been recently halted). We aim to complete our organisational structure in this market by the end of the year. With our completed electrical product range, we want to raise our growth chart we have achieved in Germany, where Karsan has started its direct structuring.”

Karsan at IAA Transportation 2022

IAA Transportation Fair will host Karsan’s entire electric and autonomous product family. Karsan will exhibit 6 vehicles in total, including e-JEST, e-ATAK, Autonomous e-ATAK, e-ATA in the 10-meter class, e-ATA in the 18-meter class and the new model in the indoor area of the fair. In the outdoor area of the fair, however, Autonomous e-ATAK will offer a driverless journey experience with shuttle service to fair visitors, giving the participants the opportunity to test drive the e-ATA in the 12-meter class.

Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “With e-Volution, our electric development vision, we are taking firm steps towards our objective of positioning Karsan brand in the Top 5 in Europe. We will showcase our completely electric and autonomous product family, which has brought us to where we are today, ranging from 6 to 18 meters, at the IAA Transportation Fair. We will make our mark on the fair and add another dimension to electric mobility with our brand new model, world debut of which we will make at the IAA Transportation Fair. This new electric model that we will launch will be a milestone in Karsan’s history of more than half a century, and will once again prove our pioneering role in terms of mobility solutions of the future.”

Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated, “We are expanding globally and adding new ones to our achievements. We recently entered the North American market with e-JEST, the leading model of the electric minibus market in Europe for two consecutive years. In addition, e-JEST and e-ATAK have made us proud as the market leader in their segments in Europe. In total, we have sold more than 400 electric vehicles to 19 different countries. We will increase this figure even more in the coming days.” continued as “We have delivered Europe’s largest fleet of 89 electric midibuses to Luxembourg, and we will increase this fleet to over 100 by the end of the year. While we are getting stronger in the electric market in France and Romania, we have received numerous electric vehicle orders from Italy and Spain, too. We will deliver our orders in the following months.”
