Daimler Buses has opened its 100th eBus service centre for the Omniplus service brand in Lemgo, North Rhine-Westphalia, in the premises of AHL GmbH & Co. KG, a location of the Beresa Group. The center specialises in the maintenance and repair of the all-electric Mercedes eCitaro buses.

100 Omniplus centers live in Europe

Live line working (LLW) meets all safety requirements at all Omniplus sites, the group states. Qualified personnel use specially insulated tools and are equipped with protective clothing for working directly on the battery.

44 of the now 100 Omniplus eBus service centres are located in Germany. The rest are distributed across Belgium, Denmark, France, the UK, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Hungary.

Omniplus service employees receive specific training in how to correctly handle electric vehicles and their high-voltage technology. “This includes, among other things, work on the electric drive axle, on inverters, lines and fuses, and on roof-mounted air conditioning systems. The basis for this is a modern elevated work platform that makes it possible to work effectively and safely on roof-mounted Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro components. A crane can be used to transport the heavy batteries from the bus to a battery table, where they can also be repaired if necessary”, Daimler Buses underlines.
