Otokar is participating in FIAA from October 22 to 25 in Madrid, Spain. During this four-day event, in collaboration with its Spanish distributor, Somauto, Otokar is showcasing its electric buses, including the Autonomous e-CENTRO, e-KENT, and e-TERRITO, along with its tourism coaches NAVIGO T and ULYSO T. 

60 countries covered, market leader in Turkey for 15 years, 4,700 buses produced in 2023. This is the identity card of the group, represented in Spain for 16 years by the dealer Somauto, a family business that has been active for 30 years. There are about 1,000 Otokar buses in circulation on Spanish roads. The 2024 forecast is 130 deliveries.

Latest add in the offer, the Autonomous e-CENTRO The e-CENTRO, features Level 4 autonomous driving technology. Otokar says that “Developed to adhere to traffic rules, the vehicle accurately detects its position. It is capable of operating continuously, day or night, in any weather condition, approaching stops on its predetermined route, allowing passengers to board and disembark with ease. The bus is equipped with the Digital Driver X system, fully designed, developed, and deployed by Otokar’s highly skilled teams”. 

Also at the expo, the e-KENT C, a fully electric urban bus, available in three lengths—10, 12, and 18 meters—designed to support transport operators in achieving zero-emission mobility goals. This model offers exceptional battery range, a spacious interior that maximizes passenger capacity, smooth driving dynamics, and a high passenger load. It is equipped with a central electric motor and offers a variety of battery capacity options, with rapid charging capabilities.

Quite interesting is the e-Territo, a BEV intercity bus concept offering up to 63-passenger capacity. It comes with two different battery capacities, offering varying ranges and luggage capacities. It delivers a maximum output of 410 kW and a peak torque of 3,100 Nm. Powered by lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries, the modules are positioned at the bottom of the vehicle, lowering the center of gravity for enhanced handling. Accessibility is prioritized with a double central door, a designated area for wheelchair users, and an optional platform lift, ensuring easy access for all passengers. 

The NAVIGO T has garnered attention from European operators and achieved great success in the medium-sized bus market. The 8.4-meter version of the NAVIGO is showcased at FIAA, featuring increased passenger and luggage capacity. This 9.2-meter bus can accommodate up to 39 passengers and is ideal for small groups. It is powered by a 210 HP engine and features an ergonomic driver’s area, ensuring high levels of comfort. It is equipped with a 9-speed Allison transmission

Compliance with GSR II safety standards All Otokar vehicles comply with the GSR II (General Safety Regulation) safety standards. These regulations mandate the integration of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as automated emergency braking, driver drowsiness detection, and lane-keeping systems. These technologies help reduce the risk of accidents, enhancing the safety of passengers and pedestrians alike.
