Next Mobility Exhibition in Milan will host the kick-off of Sustainable Bus Tour 2024, that after 3 years of being conducted digitally, will be built this year around two in-person conferences. “Balance Shifts in Public Transport: Operators and Industry in the Energy Transition Era,” is the title of the session set to be live in Fiera Milano on 9th May at 14.00 p.m., featuring UITP, ATM Milano, RATP, Iveco Group, ZF.
With a sharp focus on today’s projects and the challenges facing the public transport sector, the Sustainable Bus Tour aims to delve into key issues and future outlooks, facilitating discussions among operators, manufacturers, organizations, institutions, and providers of components and technologies.
Sustainable Bus Tour 2024 starts with a session at NME
Public transport is currently experiencing profound shifts in its operational and financial landscapes, driven by a convergence of factors including evolving consumer preferences, technological advancements, and environmental imperatives.
One notable trend is the increasing internationalization of the sector at the operators’ level, as major PTOs expand their operations beyond traditional boundaries to explore new markets on a global scale.
Simultaneously, macro-level developments such as electrification and the rise of on-demand transportation are fundamentally reshaping traditional business models, compelling operators to embrace innovation and adaptability. This dynamic landscape presents both challenges and opportunities for industry players, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and component providers, who must navigate significant investments amidst evolving technology and emissions standards
