\nSolaris has\u00a0delivered two\u00a0Urbino 12 electric buses to\u00a0the German city of\u00a0W\u00fcrzburg. It\u00a0is the\u00a0first delivery performed for\u00a0the operator NVG\u00a0Omnibus-Betriebs-GmbH. It\u00a0is the\u00a0first time that the\u00a0customer has\u00a0opted for\u00a0battery vehicles, which is\u00a0why Solaris will also provide chargers as\u00a0part of\u00a0the order.<\/p>\n
In\u00a0Germany alone Solaris has\u00a0supplied or\u00a0contracted over 200 electric buses by\u00a0now.<\/p>\n\n
This is\u00a0the first contract of\u00a0Solaris completed for\u00a0the customer from W\u00fcrzburg. Both supplied vehicles are\u00a0Solaris Urbino 12 electric. Apart from the\u00a0vehicles as\u00a0such, Solaris is\u00a0also providing the\u00a0charging infrastructure – i.e. two\u00a0stationary chargers with a\u00a0maximum power of\u00a0150 kW\u00a0and a\u00a0mobile charger of\u00a050 kW.<\/p>\n
The buses will be\u00a0propelled by\u00a0electric axles with two\u00a0integrated traction motors boasting a\u00a0power of\u00a0125 kW\u00a0each. The\u00a0power used by\u00a0the vehicle will be\u00a0stored in\u00a0a set\u00a0of Solaris High Energy batteries with a\u00a0total capacity of\u00a0300 kWh, and\u00a0it will be\u00a0replenished using a\u00a0classic plug-in system.<\/p>\n
Featuring a\u00a02+2+0 door arrangement and\u00a0a passenger counting system, the\u00a0electric vehicles will be\u00a0able to\u00a0offer room on\u00a0board for\u00a070 passengers at\u00a0a time, of\u00a0whom 38 can\u00a0travel seated. What is\u00a0more, the\u00a0buses feature a\u00a0range of\u00a0improvements considerably raising the\u00a0user comfort both from the\u00a0point of\u00a0view of\u00a0passengers, the\u00a0bus driver and\u00a0also the\u00a0operator managing the\u00a0bus fleet. The\u00a0electric buses for\u00a0W\u00fcrzburg will contain a\u00a0monitoring system, internal LED\u00a0lighting, a\u00a0passenger information system, air-conditioning, USB\u00a0chargers and\u00a0an electric heating system. Special ramps placed next to\u00a0the doors will ease the\u00a0entry and\u00a0exit of\u00a0wheelchair-bound passengers.<\/p>\n![\"solaris](\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Fot._WVV_2.jpg\")

The German carrier has\u00a0also opted to\u00a0order the\u00a0modern system for\u00a0remote diagnostics eSConnect<\/strong>, dedicated to\u00a0those of\u00a0Solaris\u2019 clients who\u00a0have decided in\u00a0favour of\u00a0zero-emission vehicles. Designed by\u00a0an inter-disciplinary team of\u00a0Solaris experts, the\u00a0software is\u00a0a precision instrument which enables the\u00a0efficient management and\u00a0optimal use\u00a0of an\u00a0electric bus\u00a0fleet. The\u00a0eSConnect system provides i.a. tracking data on\u00a0the location of\u00a0the bus\u00a0fleet at\u00a0given times, and\u00a0including the\u00a0updated battery status. Furthermore, it\u00a0allows for\u00a0the remote detection of\u00a0potential errors reported by\u00a0the vehicle on\u00a0the driver\u2019s panel, which makes it\u00a0possible to\u00a0quickly respond to\u00a0possible defects. The\u00a0data collected by\u00a0the app\u00a0are presented in\u00a0a visually appealing form of\u00a0charts and\u00a0graphs.<\/p>\n The supplied buses also feature a\u00a0system to\u00a0steer the\u00a0heating and\u00a0the air-conditioning systems of\u00a0the vehicle, including the\u00a0function of\u00a0thermal pre-conditioning launched via\u00a0the eSConnect system. This thermal pre-conditioning is\u00a0yet another solution devised by\u00a0the Solaris Office of\u00a0Development. Used during the\u00a0bus charging, it\u00a0optimises the\u00a0consumption of\u00a0electric power during the\u00a0ride. Thanks to\u00a0this feature it\u00a0is possible to\u00a0increase the\u00a0range of\u00a0the vehicle on\u00a0a single charge.<\/p>\n \u201cThe fact that operator NVG\u00a0Omnibus-Betriebs-GmbH has\u00a0decided to\u00a0make its\u00a0first electric buses of\u00a0Solaris design means a\u00a0lot to\u00a0us.
