The\u00a0deliveries will be\u00a0completed in\u00a0October 2021, Solaris points out.<\/p>\n<p>The German <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/electric-bus\/electric-bus-public-transport-main-fleets-projects-around-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">electric bus<\/a> market is\u00a0expanding dynamically, whereas the\u00a0battery Urbinos have run\u00a0on German streets since 2013. So\u00a0far, <strong>Solaris says it has supplied or\u00a0secured orders from German customers for\u00a0over 230 battery-electric buses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Last week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/electric-bus\/wurzburg-solaris-public-transport-urbino\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Solaris has\u00a0delivered two\u00a0Urbino 12 electric buses to\u00a0the German city of\u00a0W\u00fcrzburg<\/a>. And, besides battery-electric buses, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/fuel-cell\/a-fleet-of-25-solaris-hydrogen-buses-headed-to-germany\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Polish producer has also secured a 25 hydrogen bus order from Cologne and Wuppertal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10481\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Solaris_Urbino_12_electric-5.jpg\" alt=\"solaris offenbach\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Solaris_Urbino_12_electric-5.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Solaris_Urbino_12_electric-5-1536x1026.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/>\n<h2>Solaris in Offenbach, 9 e-buses already in the pipeline<\/h2>\n<p>The city of\u00a0Offenbach, located in\u00a0the German state of\u00a0Hesse, ordered 20 twelve-meter Solaris Urbino 12 electric and\u00a09 eighteen-meter, articulated Solaris Urbino 18 buses. Before the\u00a0end of\u00a0this year the\u00a0local operator Offenbacher Verkehrs-Betriebe (OVB) will receive 7 Urbino electric buses ordered in\u00a02019. Once both contracts are\u00a0completed, <strong>emission-free Solaris-buses will account for\u00a0nearly half of\u00a0the OVB\u2019s fleet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Latest generation batteries for Solaris e-buses in Offenbach<\/h2>\n<p>OVB decided in\u00a0favour of\u00a0the <strong>latest generation Solaris High Energy+ batteries<\/strong> with a\u00a0<strong>capacity of\u00a0316 and\u00a0474 kWh\u00a0in twelve- and\u00a0eighteen-meter buses accordingly<\/strong>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/electric-bus\/three-solaris-articulated-e-buses-will-operate-in-bonn-for-swb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">same battery model has been chosen by SWB Bonn<\/a>. The\u00a0electric energy will propel two\u00a0wheel hub\u00a0electric motors boasting a\u00a0power of\u00a0125 kW\u00a0each. It\u00a0will be\u00a0replenished by\u00a0means of\u00a0a roof-mounted pantograph (fast charging during the\u00a0day) and\u00a0at night at\u00a0the bus\u00a0depot. The\u00a0temperature comfort in\u00a0the buses will be\u00a0ensured by\u00a0efficient and\u00a0environmentally friendly air\u00a0conditioning with a\u00a0heat pump which uses heat from outside to\u00a0reach an\u00a0adequate ambient temperature in\u00a0the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>In its\u00a0order for\u00a0new buses, the\u00a0carrier from Offenbach has\u00a0opted for\u00a0<strong>modern driver assistance systems. One\u00a0of them allows the\u00a0driver to\u00a0see more thanks to\u00a0cameras placed outside of\u00a0the vehicle<\/strong>. These cameras detect pedestrians and\u00a0cyclists situated in\u00a0the blind spot of\u00a0the vehicle, which is\u00a0particularly important during turns. Another system was\u00a0designed to\u00a0send acoustic signals warning pedestrians of\u00a0the approaching electric vehicle featuring an\u00a0extremely quiet drive.<\/p>\n<h2>Also articulated Solaris Urbino Electric for Offenbach<\/h2>\n<p>The Urbino 12 bus\u00a0accommodates 33 seats, 12 of\u00a0which are\u00a0accessible from the\u00a0low floor, which eases travel for\u00a0passengers with reduced mobility. Meanwhile, the\u00a0Urbino 18 bus\u00a0will have enough space for\u00a045 and\u00a020 seats accordingly. For\u00a0even greater passenger convenience, the\u00a0carrier offers 14 (Urbino 12) and\u00a018 (Urbino 18) double USB\u00a0ports for\u00a0the recharging of\u00a0mobile devices, and\u00a0a separate port will be\u00a0available to\u00a0the driver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am\u00a0extremely pleased that the\u00a0operator Offenbacher Verkehrs-Betriebe opted once again for\u00a0our electric offer. It\u2019s amazing to\u00a0be part of\u00a0the transformation that is\u00a0so significant for\u00a0the city and\u00a0its residents.
