Time of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/trolley-and-tramway\/trolleybus-market-a-growing-demand-thanks-to-zero-emission-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">trolleybus<\/a> news for Solaris Bus &amp; Coach. The first three of the ten new trolleybuses purchased by TEP Parma (Italy) have started operation in late 2020. The vehicles are running on Line 1 and are supported by a battery with enough capacity in order to allow the vehicle to cover sections of the route without overhead lines. Registration and homologation procedures are underway for the remaining seven Solaris Trollino, that are expected to join the first group on the road by mid-2021.<\/p>\n<p>What is more, a new trolleybus order has been secured by Solaris in <strong>Romania<\/strong>: the municipality of\u00a0<strong>Brasov<\/strong> (Transylvania) <strong>has\u00a0ordered 25 Trollino 18<\/strong>. Based on\u00a0the contract, the\u00a0producer will supply articulated, low-floor and\u00a0zero-emission trolleybuses to\u00a0the customer within 12 months. The\u00a0value of\u00a0the contract (backed from EU) amounts to\u00a0about EUR\u00a019 million.<\/p>\n<div class=\"aspect-w-16 aspect-h-9\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Three trolleybuses delivered in Parma (Italy) from Solaris\" width=\"1778\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XTvf-I2WFP4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2>Solaris trolleybuses in Parma<\/h2>\n<p class=\"u-text-bold\">A batch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/trolley-and-tramway\/18-solaris-trollino-trolleybuses-modena-parma-to-be-delivered-in-italy-in-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">18 Solaris 12-meter trolleybuses has been ordered in 2019 from\u00a0the\u00a0operators<strong> SETA Modena and\u00a0TEP Parma<\/strong><\/a>, both providing carrier services in\u00a0the <strong>Emilia-Romagna region<\/strong> in\u00a0the North of\u00a0the country.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0vehicles will feature among others a\u00a0central traction motor and\u00a0traction batteries with a\u00a0capacity of\u00a045 kWh\u00a0and a\u00a0cooling system, all\u00a0of which will allow the\u00a0vehicles to\u00a0cover a\u00a0much longer distance without the\u00a0need to\u00a0be attached to\u00a0overhead wires. There is\u00a0room for\u00a0nearly <strong>80 passengers<\/strong> in\u00a0the air-conditioned passenger compartment, and\u00a024 of\u00a0them will be\u00a0seated. The\u00a0seats, as\u00a0well as\u00a0internal walls, window pillars and\u00a0the cover of\u00a0the battery chamber will be\u00a0given an\u00a0anti-graffiti coating. The\u00a0vehicle will also encompass a\u00a0passenger information system with external and\u00a0internal direction displays and\u00a0voice announcement loudspeakers and\u00a0energy-saving lighting in\u00a0LED technology.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12256\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/191715715-d67f50f0-f4bb-43b6-8b7e-db59c94898d3-2.jpg\" alt=\"trolleybus parma\" width=\"735\" height=\"416\" \/>\n<h2>Solaris trolleybuses, a deal in Romania<\/h2>\n<p>It\u00a0is worth mentioning that in\u00a0July 2020 the\u00a0manufacturer completed deliveries in Brasov under the\u00a0earlier order, for\u00a026 vehicles of\u00a0this type. Some of the ordered Trollino will replace diesel buses on\u00a0new trolleybus routes launched in\u00a0the city.<\/p>\n<p>The main purpose of\u00a0the project co-financed by\u00a0the EU\u00a0is to\u00a0reduce pollutant emissions in\u00a0the centre of\u00a0the city. The\u00a0Trollino 18 are\u00a0completely emission-free and\u00a0quiet vehicles. The\u00a0models ordered by\u00a0Brasov will be\u00a0equipped with a\u00a0240 kW\u00a0electric motor. Thanks to\u00a0fitting the\u00a0vehicles with batteries they will be\u00a0able to\u00a0cover a\u00a0certain distance of\u00a0the route without a\u00a0connection to\u00a0the traction line. For\u00a0instance, in\u00a0the case of\u00a0a power grid outage they will be\u00a0able to\u00a0safely exit an\u00a0intersection.<\/p>\n<p>All\u00a0Trollino\u2019s will be\u00a0equipped with an\u00a0efficient air\u00a0conditioning system of\u00a0the passenger space. The\u00a0trolleybuses cannot lack neither a\u00a0monitoring system, nor\u00a0passenger information screens or\u00a0USB chargers by\u00a0means of\u00a0which a\u00a0passenger will be\u00a0able to\u00a0recharge their telephone or\u00a0tablets.
