Anna Westerberg will take on her position as of February 1st, 2021.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12275\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Anna-Westerberg-scaled-e1611047175203.jpg\" alt=\"Anna Westerberg volvo buses\" width=\"1200\" height=\"768\" \/>\n<h2>Anna Westerberg new president Volvo Buses<\/h2>\n<p>The departure of current president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/interview\/volvo-buses-interview-hakan-agnevall-sustainability-electric-bus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">H\u00e5kan Agnevall<\/a>\u00a0(in charge since 2013) has been announced already in September 2020: he has been appointed as the new President and CEO for W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>The new president of Volvo Buses Anna Westerberg, born 1975, currently holds the position as head of Volvo Group Connected Solutions. Her career at the Volvo Group began in 2009 and she has held many positions at the company such as head of Volvo Group Venture Capital.<\/p>\n<h2>Volvo Buses, a milestone in Gothenburg<\/h2>\n<p>In late 2020 Volvo Buses completed a milestone delivery in Gothenburg with\u00a0<strong>145 Volvo Electric Articulated. <\/strong>The target is\u00a0for all city buses in the region to be electric by 2030. The e-buses, which <strong>operate on a total of 34 routes in and around Gothenburg<\/strong>, are charged via cable in the depot overnight and at charging stations on route.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"news-article\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"overridePosition\">\n<p>Sweden\u2019s second largest city, where Volvo headquarter are located, was early when it came to electrifying its city buses. In 2015, Gothenburg became a testing ground for Volvo Buses\u2019 first all-electric vehicles as part of ElectriCity project, on a dedicated line.<\/p>\n<p>The 145 buses in Gothenburg will cut CO2 emissions by 14,500 tonnes and nitrogen oxides emissions by approximately 8,000 kg per year. Each bus\u2019s noise level is reduced by 7dB, halving its noise emissions, according to the figures provided by Volvo Buses.<\/p>\n<p>The fleet is operated by <strong>Transdev<\/strong>, following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/news\/transdev-win-electric-bus-market-in-gothenburg-and-will-put-160-ebuses-on-road\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">awarding of the tender in summer 2019<\/a>\u00a0by PTA <strong>V\u00e4sttrafik<\/strong>. Transdev has overall responsibility for everything being in place before operations commence. This includes choosing the right technology, training employees, finding and adapting bus depots, and ensuring the availability of charging infrastructure and the right electricity capacity.
