\u00d6BB Postbus<\/strong> has\u00a0landed a\u00a0deal with Solaris<\/strong> for\u00a0the delivery of\u00a0five fuel cell buses<\/a>. The\u00a0hydrogen-fuelled vehicles shall be\u00a0deployed in\u00a0the picturesque city of\u00a0Villach<\/strong> in\u00a0south-east Austria, where Solaris held a test in spring<\/a>. \u00d6BB Postbus is\u00a0the biggest bus\u00a0operator in\u00a0Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is\u00a0the first order placed under a\u00a0framework agreement concluded at\u00a0the beginning of\u00a02021<\/strong> and\u00a0envisioning the\u00a0option for\u00a0the purchase of\u00a0up to\u00a040 vehicles of\u00a0this type by\u00a0the customer. The\u00a0investment coincides with the\u00a0execution of\u00a0the H2 Carinthia project<\/strong> which aims to\u00a0foster the\u00a0development of\u00a0hydrogen technology in\u00a0this region. The\u00a0H2 Carinthia project aims to\u00a0support the\u00a0development of\u00a0the region in\u00a0terms of\u00a0the use\u00a0of hydrogen in\u00a0public transport and\u00a0for industrial purposes. The\u00a0participants include the\u00a0largest carriers in\u00a0Austria, city authorities and\u00a0energy firms, too. This project will cover, among others, the\u00a0first hydrogen fuelling station of\u00a0Carinthia<\/strong>, as\u00a0well as\u00a0the addition of\u00a0hydrogen-fuelled vehicles to\u00a0existing bus\u00a0fleets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the\u00a0beginning of\u00a02021 Solaris entered a\u00a0framework agreement with carrier \u00d6BB Postbus, stipulating the\u00a0possibility of\u00a0the purchase of\u00a0up to\u00a040 hydrogen buses by\u00a02023. In\u00a0December 2021, the\u00a0carrier took advantage of\u00a0that option, placing an\u00a0order for\u00a05 units of\u00a0the Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen model. These vehicles use\u00a0energy generated onboard in\u00a0a set\u00a0of fuel cells. Thanks to\u00a0the technology used therein the\u00a0bus can\u00a0cover a\u00a0distance of\u00a0about 350 km\u00a0completely emission-free under all\u00a0kinds of\u00a0conditions. Solaris shall deliver the\u00a0vehicles by\u00a0the end\u00a0of November 2022. The\u00a0innovative buses are\u00a0to be\u00a0deployed in\u00a0Villach, the\u00a0capital of\u00a0the Carinthian Alps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe start of\u00a0a new, \u2018electric\u2019 chapter in\u00a0the cooperation with our\u00a0customer Postbus is\u00a0not only a\u00a0great honour for\u00a0us, but\u00a0it also marks a\u00a0chance at\u00a0fostering the\u00a0green change in\u00a0public transport in\u00a0Austria by\u00a0providing innovative solutions.
