{"id":30484,"date":"2024-04-04T15:35:30","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T13:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/?p=30484"},"modified":"2024-04-04T15:35:33","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T13:35:33","slug":"after-norway-finland-autonomous-karsan-e-atak-lands-in-tampere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/news\/after-norway-finland-autonomous-karsan-e-atak-lands-in-tampere\/","title":{"rendered":"After Norway, Finland: autonomous Karsan e-Atak lands in Tampere"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Karsan<\/strong>, following its November 2023 signing with Norway&#8217;s group <strong>Vy<\/strong>, one of the largest public transport authorities in Scandinavia to supply <strong>autonomous<\/strong> vehicles, has delivered the first <strong>Autonomous e-Atak <\/strong>(8-meter-long <strong>driverless<\/strong> electric, developed together with <strong>Adastec<\/strong>) to the city of <strong>Tampere<\/strong>, <strong>Finland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first full-size driverless bus in Finland to carry passengers in real-life road conditions after Karsan projects underway at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/electric-bus\/autonomous-bus-michigan-university\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Michigan State University<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/news\/karsans-e-atak-autonomous-green-light-to-enter-regular-traffic-in-norway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in Stavanger, Norway<\/a>. The vehicle will be operated by Remoted, a Finnish company based right in Tampere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"e-atak-karsan-autonomous-for-tampere\">E-Atak Karsan autonomous for Tampere<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Able to move autonomously on a planned route, the Autonomous e-Atak with <strong>Level 4 autonomous technology <\/strong>c<strong>an travel at a speed of 40 km\/h in all weather conditions<\/strong>, day and night; it performs all operations like a driver, such as approaching route stops, handling the process of getting off and on, and driving and handling at intersections, pedestrian crossings and traffic lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1406\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Screenshot-2024-04-04-alle-14.44.08-1406x1080.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30486\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karsan Ceo Okan Ba\u015f<\/strong> said: \u00abThrough this new project, we have enabled the city of Tampere to be a step ahead in public transportation solutions.I n our capacity as a leading partner in solving public transportation problems in Scandinavian markets, we will maintain this position with our autonomous and electric vehicles\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ba\u015f&#8217;s voice was joined by <strong>Ali Peker, CEO of Adastec<\/strong>: \u00abAs part of our strong partnership with Karsan and Applied Autonomy, we thank Remoted for allowing us to launch our project and for believing in our vision.
