The EiV12, on the other hand, focuses on the Indian market and has reportedly received already 1,800 units ordered from cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Switch also announced that it has invested around 100 crore in the development of the EiV12 and plans to invest an additional $10-15 million in the E1 platform in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Switch Mobility is an established player in the Indian market, it had apparently halted projects in Europe, where the group was supposed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/electric-bus\/switch-mobility-confirms-valladolid-as-site-for-new-advanced-manufacturing-and-technology-centre\/\">build a production facility in Spain<\/a>. Oddly enough, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/news\/switch-mobility-e1-bus\/\">the same E1 model was launched in 2022<\/a> and never marketed in the continent. It&#8217;s unclear wether the model presented today share the same specifications or is the outcome of a new project. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/news\/switch-mobility-electric-bus-eiv-12-platform-india\/\">the same EiV12 was presented in 2022<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Switch E1 and EiV12 launched <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Switch Mobility expects the electric city bus market in India to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21% by 2030, with an estimated 70% penetration of electric vehicles (EVs) in this segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Switch E1 is designed for the European market, featuring a <strong>lightweight monocoque construction <\/strong>and<strong> in-wheel motors<\/strong>. It has a flat gangway layout throughout the bus, with a triple-door design (front, center, and rear). The bus can accommodate <strong>up to 93 passengers<\/strong>, including standing passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Switch EiV12, which is aimed at the Indian market, is India\u2019s first low-floor city bus with chassis-mounted batteries, Switch Mobility states. The bus has a scalable battery capacity of over 400 kWh and features an indigenously designed platform. It offers seating for up to 39 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bus is equipped with a low-floor entry and a kneeling mechanism, which facilitates easier access. It also includes an automated wheelchair ramp for passengers with disabilities.
