Solaris had 1,525 buses delivered in 2024 (growing 5%) and 1,609 vehicles in order book (92% of those being low or zero emissions) for a total value of over 1.4 billion euros.

Today Solaris has shared its results 2024. In terms of strategy, as already announced last year, the focus are on expansion on the North American market (the company recently scored a first Canadian trolleybus order and will deliver also in Seattle) and entry in the intercity zero emission bus segment: the premiere will be held in early 2025.

Concerning the financial performance, Solaris also experienced in 2024 a 13% increase in revenue, achieving record revenue in the history of the company: up to 927 million euros, doubled since 2018. And the goal is clear: exceeding 1.3 billion euro in revenue and the 6.4 EBIT margin by 2026 (in 2024 EBIT stood at 4.3%, growing from 1% in 2023)

During the press conference Solaris’ CEO Javier Iriarte shared it remains the top seller of zero emission buses in Europe, with 3.074 deliveries and a 13.9% market share between 2012 and 2024. And 5,500 Solaris zero emission buses (including 200 trolleybuses) are today running all around Europe.

New products are coming: the Urbino 10.5 Electric midibus, featuring modular driveline, will be launched at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels. In the first quarter of 2026 is scheduled the premiere of Solaris intercity electric bus, as anticipated above.

Last year Solaris shared that vehicle sales in 2023 reached 1,456 units (-2.4 per cent on 2022, when the Polish company sold 1,492 units), marking however an 18% growth in revenue compared to the previous year (up to 819 million euros). The company held a 15.2% share in the e-bus market 2023.

Back to 2024 results, fuel cell bus deliveries kept Solaris ZE sales high in 2024. Last year the Polish company was indeed on fifth position in the European battery-electric bus market (fourth when excluding UK and Ireland), due to a 36.6% decrease in registrations, that fell from 725 in 2023 to just 460 in 2024. However, it should be noted that 2023, for the Polish OEM, marked a quite extraordinary year in terms of BEV bus registrations (785).
