Other tests will follow during 2019. Then, <strong>City Sightseeing Italy group\u00a0intends to proceed to the progressive replacement of the current diesel fleet<\/strong>, converting it into full electric.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4360 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Schermata-2018-12-06-alle-12.38.18-1024x630.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"630\" \/>\n<h2>Ankai &#8211; Zf electric open top<\/h2>\n<p>The electric open top bus unveiled in Milan is one of the first of its kind circulating in Europe. A few months ago, a vehicle realized by Spanish company Unvi and equipped with <span lang=\"en-GB\">electric motors integrated in the wheels (manufactured by\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">Ziehl-Abegg) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainable-bus.com\/electric-bus\/sightseeing-bus-electric-silent-london-ratp-unvi-ziehl-abegg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hit the road in London<\/a>.\u00a0City Sightseeing Italy&#8217;s double decker electric bus has 70 seats, wifi service, multilingual audioguide and 250 km of range. It requires a 5-hour charge. The manufacturer is the Chinese company Ankai, while &#8220;under the bonnet&#8221; there is the <strong>electric axle Zf AxTrax Ave with in wheel motors<\/strong>, adopted also by Solaris and Mercedes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Sustainable tourism with electric open top buses<\/h2>\n<p>City Sightseeing Italy is the company leader, in Italy, in the field of double decker open top for sightseeing. Its iconic red buses run in 14 Italian cities. &#8220;Our target&#8221; said Fabio Maddii, president of the group, &#8220;is to <strong>encourage collective mobility<\/strong> and at the same time enhance the cultural heritage with <strong>zero environmental impact<\/strong>.
