Eight US states, driven by California, are developing an action plan to put hundreds of thousands more zero-emission trucks and buses on the roads. The initiative has been announced yesterday by the California Air Resources Board (CARB<\/strong>) agency. To date, a Statement of Intent (entitled ‘Multi-State Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero Emission Vehicle Initiative’)\u00a0has been issued.The Board is currently holding its first meeting to consider a proposed Advanced Clean Trucks regulation that would establish sales and reporting requirements for zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The board is expected to consider the first of its kind regulation for adoption next year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n California<\/strong> is working in this direction together with Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont<\/strong>. Recently, in California, a mega order for 130 battery-electric buses has been signed by Los Angeles Department of Transportation<\/strong>\u00a0(LADOT)<\/a>: it’s\u00a0the largest single order of battery-electric buses to date in the United States.<\/p>\n
